Where did you meet? We met at university, Chris was in his last year and had chosen to be a senior student for new students in halls of residence. Chris was my senior student and did a good job of looking after me in my first year!
Where did he propose? It was more a discussion that a proposal, neither of us really like romance. We knew that we didn”t want to ever be apart and that we want to spend the rest of our lives together so it just made sense.
Where did you get married? Bakewell registry office. Chris being from America hasn’t seen much of the UK and when I took him for a drive around the Peak District he just fell in love with the whole area.
Where was your reception? Monsal Head Hotel, just for the simply amazing views and amazing food!
Who was your caterer? Monsal Head Hotel
What was on your menu? Everyone chose off the menu, made it simple and kept everyone happy! Chris had a steak and I had sausage and mash!
Tell us about your wedding rings. The rings were from Goldsmiths, Chris” family helped us out with getting them.
Tell us about your cake. The cake was made by an amazing couple from Eckington near Chesterfield. The shop is called the Cake Booth. They do the most amazing things with chocolate!
Who supplied your flowers, what did you have? My flowers came from a florist in Clay Cross (The Flower Shoppe) lovely woman who lives a few doors up from my grandma! they were grand prix roses, they were so beautiful.
Who designed your dress and where did it come from? My dress was from the shop Coast.
What shoes did you wear? They werent anything spectacular, £30 bargain from Barrats!
Who did your make-up? I did my own make up and hair!
Did you have cars? if so what and who supplied them? Regency cars chesterfield, they had some amazing cars but my dad had the final say in what car we chose!
What was your first dance to and why? we didn’t have one, we both hate things like that!!
How long were you in planning your wedding? 8 weeks
Were you on budget? to be honest we couldn’t have done it without the help of both our parents!
What advice would you give a couple planning their wedding? Just relax! its only stressful if you make it stressful!
What is the brides most memorable part of the day? everything going well! the whole day was superb!
What is the grooms most memorable part of the day? Ceremony and the car ride from Bakewell registry office the Monsal Head where Neal made some lovely photos for us.
